The Sr. IT Data Engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and driving innovation through data. As a key leader in Information Technology, you will leverage data to drive strategic decision-making and business outcomes and use current data technologies and programming languages to drive solutions. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data ecosystem. You will leverage deep technical expertise to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll transform raw data into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making and delivering value to our organization. As a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a desire to continuously learn and grow in a dynamic environment you can be a part of a team dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in data engineering. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

  • Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, understanding requirements and delivering value-based solutions. 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the organization fostering a culture of learning and growth and provides guidance on complex technical challenges and empowers team members to develop their skills and capabilities.  

  • Commitment to continuous improvement across emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering enhancing data efficiency, optimizes architecture, driving innovation and ensuring the scalability and sustainability of data solutions. 

  • Establish and enforce data quality assurance that maintains integrity and reliability of organizational data with robust data validation to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of data with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. 

  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a robust data infrastructure by designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to guarantee the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources. 

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data integration solutions to consolidate, cleanse, and transform data from disparate sources into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate for the role of Sr. IT Data Engineer is a seasoned professional with a proven history of delivering value-driven data solutions. They possess a deep understanding of data engineering principles and methodologies, coupled with extensive experience in designing and implementing robust data infrastructure tailored to the unique needs of manufacturing operations. They excel in optimizing data and ensuring the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources into readily available stores for the business. They are experienced in implementing data quality assurance measures to maintain the integrity and reliability of operational data, for informed decision-making and process optimization. With strong collaboration skills and interfacing with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions. With a continuous improvement mindset, staying abreast of emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and scalability in data engineering efforts. 

Critical Success Factors: 

You will be most successful in this role if you: 

  • Ensure that data management initiatives align closely with the organization's strategic goals and objectives by understanding the business landscape and translating it into data strategies that drive value and support decision-making processes effectively. 

  • Have a focused attention to detail when designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations. With robust data quality checks and validation processes to maintain data reliability and trustworthiness. 

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data management and analytics to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization, evaluating new tools, methodologies, and approaches which enhance data capabilities and deliver competitive advantage. 

  • Develop and implementing efficient data integration solutions that consolidate, cleanse, and transform data from various sources into meaningful insights. Architect data ecosystems that facilitate seamless data flow and interoperability across the organization. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, devise effective solutions, and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability  

  • Stay informed of future trends and provide thought leadership on all aspects of responsible technology.  

Required Skills & capabilities 

To take on these challenges, you will need to have: 

  • Requires a four (4) year college or university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Mathematics, Statistics, or Science-related field a plus.  

  • CDMP, CAP, MS Azure Data engineer, CIMP, and/or other data certifications a plus. 

  • 5 years of experience in enterprise level data management. 

  • 4 years of experience with secure data handling methodologies, data leakage prevention, and development.  

  • Deep technical knowledge of across a broad spectrum of data engineering including data management, analytics, data governance, data architecture, and data modeling. 

  • Experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, OneLake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and various other Microsoft Data Analytics tools a must. 

  • Experience in data management, data analysis, or other data administration functions or tools such as Microsoft Purview. In-depth understanding of modern database and information technologies. 

  • Excellent math, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management. Experience deciphering and organizing large amounts of data.  

  • Experience dealing with private and sensitive information.  Experience in Microsoft Data Analytics Technologies, Linux configuration, Oracle Database, SQL database, Perl, Python, R  or similar data related technologies/data management applications. 

  • Capability to understand organization’s goals, mission, and plans and how to apply data to improve existing goals, identify new opportunities, and make vital improvements to communication, marketing, and branding.  

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and BI tools 

  • Excellent communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to think strategically and drive data initiatives forward. 

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies. 

  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. 

  • Understanding of data security and privacy best practices.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$137,658.00 - $206,333.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
