POSITION GOAL

To direct and manage data collection and maintenance for information analysis as related to the operations, applications, and systems of the School District.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise staff as assigned in the performance of job duties. 
  • Analyze, document, and manage the reporting of data requests. 
  • Design new systems and strategies to achieve objectives related to data collection and management for the District. 
  • Prepare implementation plans for all new systems and coordinate the implementation efforts related to data and information management. 
  • Coordinate the activities (maintenance, development, and continuous improvement) for database applications and reporting. 
  • Work with users to coordinate, and prioritize projects (maintenance, development, and continuous improvement). 
  • Communicate the status and progress of requested data reports with stakeholders. 
  • Work closely with end users and stakeholders to develop needs assessment and understand requirement for reporting local, state, and federal data. 
  • Assist with reporting information related to hardware/software evaluations. 
  • Develop and design methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying information. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advanced level data interpretation support to all levels of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Oversee the team responsible for data management and end user enablement for information reporting. 
  • Interpret data, including statistical value, and provide advice and consultation. 
  • Collaborate with departments related to the improvement of the data- driven information and adhere to state and federal guidelines. 
  • Develop alternate designs to resolve issues with input, storage, or retrieval of information. 
  • Comply with administrative rules, directives, policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes governing the distribution of confidential information. 
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida. 
  • Participate in the training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities. 
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities. 
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures. 
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee.
   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years within the last eight (8) years of experience in developing or modernizing documenting and implementing data systems with at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in data analysis, data management, and information synthesis.
  • High level of technical knowledge of database management systems and student information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bilingual skills.

SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose

Frequently interacts and/or meets with District and School-based staff as well as the IT Division staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
