The Care Management Data Operations Analyst position will support the design, development, and implementation of care management reporting requirements. This position also conducts quality assurance testing related to reporting, data integrity, and analyses; to include ongoing monitoring and oversight of operational reports. An essential part of the role includes the ability to act as a liaison for Care Management interdepartmentally for interdependencies for data collection and report development efforts.

This position is full-time remote. Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina. Some travel for onsite meetings to the Home office (Morrisville, NC) may be required. 

 Responsibilities & Duties

Reporting Development and Strategy

  • Perform data acquisition, analysis, and evaluation via advanced platform queries, MicroStrategy, Excel, and other data management tools to support departmental reporting 
  • Design solutions to maximize efficiency and work towards utilizing dashboards and alerts to expedite reporting data to internal Alliance staff and other stakeholders
  • Using thorough knowledge of available data, design reports that merge data from various sources including State data, the data warehouse, and internal platforms including Jiva, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Provide support as required to ensure the accuracy of developed reports and metrics for both external and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure that reporting activities are conducted in ways that correspond with externally mandated specifications
  • Lead Care Management with any data assurance/integrity efforts required as part of larger quality activities, and with the completion and validation of state-required reports

Operational Documentation and Improvement

  • Engineer efficient processes for gathering statistical data, identifying complex trends, and translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Maintain current records of actions being taken to ensure efficient processes and integrity within Alliance
  • Write report requirements, submit requests, and work through report development with appropriate IT resources 
  • Read reporting requirements for existing reports to identify process improvements in data collection; understand the connection to contractual requirements
  • Track changes in operational workflows that may impact reporting
  • Keep up to date and monitor for new reporting requirements to implement and QC changes in or new reporting requirements

Operational Application of Data Requirements

  • Analyze Care Management activities and data to identify trends, report current data related to expectations and requirements at the state level and within Alliance Health
  • Translate data findings into report documentation specifications and present data as needed
  • Support development and documentation of operational documentation platform workflows to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiencies
  • Lead efforts to clarify any specifications that are unclear

People Management, Collaboration, and Communication

  • Collaborate with Care Management leadership for oversight and monitoring of adherence to workflows to capture accurate data
  • Collaborate with Care Management operations to understand current state processes and identify any improvements to processes and/or workflows to enhance and/or streamline reporting
  • Oversight and monitoring of ongoing reporting, not yet automated
  • Influence and manage others to meet critical timelines
  • Work closely with others in Care Management to enhance operations and automation of reports and processes and perform quality assurance testing of systems and products
  • Actively participate in committees and work groups as appropriate
  • Attend IT/Reporting trainings or meetings that are relevant to the above responsibilities
  • Attend in-person meetings as required to problem-solve and/or collaborate with internal Alliance employees
  • Provide End User support on solutions and data interpretation
  • Conduct peer reviews and test solutions for functionality and data accuracy
  • Supporting CM Leadership and Learning & Development to provide information and/or documentation needed for communication and training on processes impacting reporting

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, human services/healthcare, or related field and

(4) four years of experience implementing reporting requirements, data strategy, and process improvement with at least (1) year of that experience working with data obtained through healthcare documentation platforms.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent, required within 1 year of hire.

Preferred:

Experience and knowledge of care management process, roles, and responsibilities preferred.

Experience in MCO, ACO, CIN, or VBC preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated application of data integration knowledge (validation and cleaning)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex data and structure
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations
  • Knowledge of Care Management Concepts, Roles, Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software systems quickly
  • Experience with electronic health records or other healthcare documentation software systems
  • Ability to interpret reporting requirements into operational workflows 
  • Demonstrated application of data visualization principles and strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills are required to support working in project environments that includes internal, external and customer teams
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to attend to detail, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently without a high degree of supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Skills testing will be administered as a way to evaluate proficiency level)
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Visio, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to drive change management.

Salary Range

$66,240 - $87,768/Annually

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
