Specialist for AI-based image processing (all gender)

We are looking for a specialist (all gender) in AI image processing in digital phenotyping to describe plant characteristics using image data.
The position is ideally filled full-time and permanent at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA's headquarters in Einbeck (Lower Saxony, Germany). 

Your tasks:

• Development of new image processing routines mainly using neural networks in an interdisciplinary team
• Support, optimization and adaptation of existing image analysis pipelines for automated and productive use with high throughput
• Negotiation of technical requirements with internal customers from the breeding and research departments of the KWS Group internationally
• Quality monitoring of results using statistical methods

What you bring to the table:

• Completed university degree in one of the STEM disciplines, preferably with biological or medical application
• First experience in statistical analysis
• Solid programming skills (e.g. Matlab, R and/or Python)
• Interest in image processing and data analysis, especially deep learning (e.g. PyTorch, AWS Sagemaker, OpenCV or similar) - previous knowledge is an advantage
• Ability to find customer-oriented solutions for the requests from the breeding and research departments of the KWS Group internationally 
• Independent and result-oriented way of working in a committed and motivated team
• Ability to communicate across disciplines in English, additional knowledge of German is an advantage
