Key responsibilities

• Architect and build key components that power our scalable, high-performance systems.
• Lead projects that involve multiple teams, ensuring smooth delivery of features that impact the core of our platform.
• Innovate with the latest backend technologies, continuously improving our architecture and system capabilities.
• Design and implement scalable and reliable backend systems using AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).
• Collaborate with data scientists, security experts, frontend and PMs to integrate AI and ML into the heart of our product.
• Debug and troubleshoot multi-system issues in a distributed environment.
• Ensure the backend meets security, compliance, and data retention requirements, particularly in event-driven and serverless architectures.
• Mentor and support the growth of junior engineers through technical guidance and reviews.

Your experience

• 6+ years of experience in backend development, particularly in serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS).
• Strong understanding of AWS services such as DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience in designing and implementing event-driven systems and workflows using Step Functions.
• Proficiency in Node.js (or Python), with a strong focus on performance optimization, cost management, and scalability.
• Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and integrating with third-party identity providers for SSO solutions.
• Familiarity with logging frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC2).
• Experience working with multi-region data replication and ensuring global data availability in compliance with data residency regulations.
• Knowledge of API integrations and automating workflows for ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Jira).

This is a hybrid position and we are attending the offices 3 times a week. We have offices in Pleasanton, California and São Paulo, Brazil.
