We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a GIS Solutions Engineer with an existing DoD Secret clearance to provide support to the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) at their facility in the Hague, Netherlands. This GIS Solutions Engineer will be responsible for modernizing NATO’s enterprise GIS system throughout the region. This position will be based in the Netherlands, but will require travel throughout Europe for a period of a year. The GIS Solutions Engineer will install and configure ArcGIS Enterprise, manage ArcGIS Server, migrate Portal for ArcGIS content, and administer enterprise geodatabases. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Solutions Engineer, which include:

  • ArcGIS Enterprise administration, including working with IT on troubleshooting and infrastructure upgrades.
  • ArcGIS license management for applications and extensions.
  • Coordination Esri technical support on deploying vendor software.
  • Manage performance and availability of enterprise geodatabases.
  • Monitor ArcGIS Enterprise capacity, usage, CPU, hardware, storage, and services statistics.
  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures and update as required.
  • Maintain available third-party data sources data analysis and geocoding.
  • Automate data workflows and system administration processes via Python.
  • Administer services and portal content, users, and groups.

The following are requirements of the GIS Solutions Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, depending on position level
  • Existing U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
  • 5 years of experience with computer networks, architecture, and infrastructure of an enterprise system.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure and platform services (such as databases, virtualization platforms, network components)
  • 3 years of experience designing and implementing GIS Solutions for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 environments.
  • 2 years of experience administering ArcGIS Server 10.x including installation, configuration and interoperability.
  • 2 years of experience troubleshooting Esri software including ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Desktop.
  • Practical professional knowledge of ArcSDE for MS SQL Server including configuration and administration.
  • Demonstrated history of direct interaction and support to end-users in a help desk capacity.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Python for automating common enterprise management workflows.
  • Fluency in English.

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the GIS Solutions Engineer:

  • Certifications (GISP, Security+, Esri Enterprise).
  • Experience using REST and web service endpoints to create secure web applications.
  • Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs.
  • Understanding and experience with other Esri enterprise products such as GeoEvent Server, Image Server, ArcGIS Monitor, etc. 
  • Previous work experience in a multi-national environment
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
