Our challenge
As a Technical Writer with experience in Python, candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, and online help systems. Candidate will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy in all technical materials.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ and Plano, TX is $80k - $90k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation for Python-based applications and systems.
Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, user-friendly documentation.
Write and edit user guides, API documentation, release notes, and online help content.
Work with version control systems to manage documentation changes and ensure up-to-date materials.
Conduct usability testing of documentation to ensure effectiveness and clarity.
Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to improve documentation quality and usability.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation tools.
Requirements:
You are:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in software development environments.
Strong understanding of Python programming language and its frameworks.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Familiarity with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
It would be great if you also had:
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of other programming languages or technologies.
Familiarity with graphic design tools for creating diagrams and illustrations.
