For VELUX the need for data is a core enabler for delivering on our corporate strategy; we are transforming data into a strategic asset that enables VELUX to make data-driven decisions, optimize operations and create innovation, growth and competitive advantage.

To achieve this we are investing heavily in developing and improving our data strategy, AI & data platforms, processes and structures and right now we are looking for the right person to be in charge of this journey as the Head of Data & Analytics.

What you will do

As the new Head of Data & Analytics in VELUX your responsibilities will stretch over areas of data platform design, leadership, strategy and stakeholder management.

  • You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation and maintenance of VELUX’s Data and AI platforms including the development and implementation of cutting-edge Data Analytics and AI solutions. This includes orchestrating competencies, establishing best practices and implementing a roadmap to enable usability, availability, and efficiency. A platform heavily inspired by Data Mesh and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.

  • You will lead a team of around 40 people including people leaders, data engineers, business intelligence specialists and data scientists located in North and Eastern Europe. You will work toward building a high-performing team of data professionals, providing mentorship and guidance in an agile and collaborative environment.

  • You will shape a future-centric data-driven vision that seamlessly aligns with the company's overarching goals with the use of traditional data methods, Data Science, AI and next generation applications.

  • You will ensure communication and alignment with senior stakeholders across the different functions within VELUX to ensure the data & AI platform meets the expectations as well as to promote awareness and adoption of the data & AI platform and self-service tools globally.

You will mainly work from our head office in Hørsholm but you can expect some traveling. We work in a hybrid setup utilizing available technology to work virtually which gives the opportunity to occasionally work from home.

Who you are

We are looking for you who have at least 10 years of experience in a leadership role focusing on data platforms, data infrastructure, architecture, analytics and AI. Your demonstrated leadership abilities include leading a diverse team and establishing a culture of excellence.

The position requires advanced communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with senior technical specialist as well as with senior business stakeholders.

Furthermore, you:

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of information management, data quality, and information governance frameworks

  • Have a solid understanding of data governance, data quality and data technologies and tools, such as SQL, databases, data integration platforms, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Demonstrate expertise in implementing and scaling analytics workflows that align with the analytic development lifecycle methodology, driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.

  • Champion a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement in data practices, ensuring the integration of robust testing, governance, and quality assurance within the analytics lifecycle.

  • Have the ability to think strategically and align initiatives with organizational goals​

  • Are committed to staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in data and analytics area

  • Are fluent in English
