Inside the Role

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The AMS (AfterMarket Solutions) IT & Digitalization Team is responsible for developing, supporting, and continuous improvement of our IT environment across the our Remanufacturing centers and other AMS locations. We look at ways to improve our current processes, bring standards, and develop new ways to do things using updated tools the market has to offer. If you are interested in real hands on IT which can have a significant impact on a production plant environment, we need candidates like you!

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop training plans and documentation for new Data Lifecycle Management (DLCM) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) processes
  • Assist in many process projects within the team, including the development of Power BI tools to support the Aftermarket Solutions production plants
  • Develop and/or maintain data with respect to department KPI’s and workload measurements, including process improvement in data collection, visualization and distribution.
  • See a data/analytics project from start to completion
  • Gather user requirements for analytics project
  • Perform deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making
  • Participate in critical, relevant projects to uncover insights that will be presented to key leadership – influencing strategic decisions
  • Share your insights and drive outcomes individually and in collaborative, encouraging environments
  • Lead visualization project using PowerBI and/or Tableau for dashboarding business solutions
  • Leverage data analytics to create insights utilized to guide business decisions in the engineering departments. Using test fleet and customer vehicle data.
  • Present results in a way that is clearly understandable and relatable to the domain expert
  • Actively work with internal and external customers to analyze business data needs, gather and document business and data architecture requirements
  • Develop data set processes, address business issues with data sets and find hidden patterns using data
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis
  • Undertake cleansing, profiling, validation and aggregation of structured and unstructured data
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months. 
  • Majors Preferred:  Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science 
  • Experience with SQL queries or other query tools 
  • Understanding and use of PowerBI and/or Tableau analytics tools
  • Coding experience with Python or other recent language
  • Basic project management skillsets and ability to report out on progress
  • Experience with ETL preferred
  • Experience with .NET and/or C# preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
