The Job…

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to help us build tools and processes to democratize access to data throughout the analytics organization and beyond.  You will work cross-functionally with many teams within the organization to understand their data needs.  You will work with the data engineering team to design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions across our operational and analytics systems. This will involve building data models and pipelines to integrate data sources using a variety of languages and tools.

The Analytics Engineer will support our developers, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, machine learning engineers, and more in ensuring consistent, accurate data delivery.  This is a great opportunity to expand your technical skillset and grow into a data engineer, ML software engineer, data scientist, or more.

• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data needs
• Apply security best practices to ensure that data is appropriately protected
• Develop Data Marts, Metrics Catalogues, and Feature Sets to support analytics activities
• Build and maintain data models
• Create tools for monitoring data quality and generating alerts
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Root cause analysis on data integrity and pipeline issues

Required Skills:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Authorized to work in the CR 
• SQL relational databases and data warehouses – you are comfortable writing SQL including
• Programming using Python
• Grouping and window functions
• Understanding of data modeling best practices
• Source control systems: git, GitHub
• Working with unstructured or semi-structured datasets
• Fundamental programming skills

Preferred Skills (3+ of the following):

• Programming using Python and R
• Comfortable on UNIX command line
• Automated workflows and CI/CD tools: Airflow, Argo, Jenkins, etc.
• Container-based deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Amazon Web Services: S3, EC2, ECR, ELB, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.
• Ability to optimize SQL queries for high performance

Education and Background:

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science or other STEM field
• Min 2+ years of relevant experience (internship experience is OK),
• Candidates with greater education and experience will be considered for job levels with more seniority (Analytics Engineer 1 – 5)
