We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Data Management Officer to join our team and support us to improve the organisation’s data management approach. Reporting to the Data Standards Lead in the Data Management Team, you will have a varied role which includes supporting our project delivery, producing and maintaining engagement materials and tools, and engaging with the development of data standards through research and business engagement.
You will take a proactive and organised approach to work and have a flexible attitude which allows you to embrace the diversity of this role.
You will:
• Provide support for our project delivery process, producing and managing relevant documentation
• Produce and maintain engagement materials and tools to ensure they meet the needs of our customers
• Provide timely responses to requests and enquiries, focussed mainly on our data management services
• Support our customers by better understanding their business area, along with their data requirements and restrictions
• Undertake analysis of datasets to support identification of issues and potential improvements
• Support the development of data standards through research and business engagement
This role will suit an individual with experience in managing and understanding data, who is looking to develop their skills in data management, engagement, project delivery and business analysis within an organisation with complex and varied data. You will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and be looking for the opportunity to develop your experience and career. The team The Data Management team is part of the Data and Information department, within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance directorate. We are experts in data management, integration, architecture, standards and quality. We work with the business to provide services, leadership and best practice to improve ways of working, deliver efficiencies and improve confidence in data and decision making. This role will help us build this capability to better deliver for the business when they need support. Experience/skills required You can show:
• Good organisational skills/discipline and the ability to plan, track, deliver and evaluate work
• Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a larger, cross-functional/multidisciplinary team
• Ability to support working groups and organise/facilitate effective meetings.
• Good problem-solving skills, supporting an ability to make proportionate, evidence-based decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can build effective stakeholder relationships. An ability to convey information to technical and non-technical audiences alike
• Experience in the effective use of SharePoint and Office 365
• An understanding of data management principles and techniques
• Experience of data integration, analysis and reporting tools, such as FME, Power Apps, Power BI etc. would be an advantage. Security clearance will be required for this role, where UK residency of 5 years is needed. Currently we are not able to support/sponsor visa applications.
Much of the team is Bristol based; other locations may be considered. You will have a formal base at one of our offices, with the ability to hybrid with home working. Some travel will be required to attend meetings. You should be comfortable connecting to others remotely via Teams, Outlook etc.
