As Senior Expert Data Science you will be responsible for understanding complex and critical business problems, formulating integrated analytical approach to mine data sources, employing statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to contribute solving unmet medical needs, discovering actionable insights and automate process for reducing effort and time for repeated use.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Execution of tasks and cooperation with the team: Active implementation of tasks and close cooperation with other team members. Planning proactive measures, anticipating changes and actively managing them. As necessary, determining stakeholder expectations and defining operational risks and finding solutions.

• Collaboration with internal departments and external partners: Teamwork to solve critical business problems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to effectively solve challenges.

• Understanding of data sources in medical and pharmaceutical science: Including preclinical, clinical, technological, analytical, sales, contractual, promotional, social media, patient claims and real evidence.

• Research with advanced algorithms and statistical models: Using new methods and models to analyze structured and unstructured data.

• Rapid learning of tools and analytical techniques: Adapting and learning to use different data sources and analytical techniques to solve diverse business issues.

• Technology and Software Needs Assessment: Monitoring new technologies and assessing the need for scientific software and visualization tools to improve practices.

• Independently identifying research articles: Finding relevant articles to solve business challenges at Sandoz.

• Developing automation for analysis and insights: Developing automated processes for regular analysis and generating insights.

What you will bring to the role:

• Masters or PhD (or Bachelors from a top Tier University) in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Applied Mathematics, Computer Science,  bioinformatics, epidemiology and Statistics; can also consider Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Decision Science, Quantitative Research, Econometrics, Computational Physics/Chemistry/Biology) and other relevant qualifications.

• Business fluent in English (written and spoken).

• Leadership experience is preferred.

• Good leadership skills.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Excellent presentation and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of working with data tools for managing, collecting, automating and analyzing data is desirable: e.g. R, Python, SQL.

• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field of development & research and a minimum of 2 years of work experience in data science.
