Research Scientist, Shopping Conversation Foundation

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Research Scientist with a background in Machine Learning to help build industry-leading Speech and Language technology.

As a Research Scientist at Amazon you will work with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modelling techniques to drive the state of the art in speech synthesis.

Position Responsibilities:
* Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models for Speech and Language applications.
* Participate in research activities including the application and evaluation of Speech and Language techniques for novel applications.
* Research and implement novel ML and statistical approaches to add value to the business.

Basic Qualifications

- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language
- Experience with agile development
- Experience building web based dashboards using common frameworks

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
