Description

At Verily, as a Clinical Informatics Data Architect, your extensive knowledge in healthcare informatics and data architecture will be utilized to design data solutions that enhance usability, facilitate actionability, and support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of an advanced healthcare data architecture that adheres to industry standards and supports organizational goals. Participate in the data modeling, normalization and transformation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in building data solutions leveraging the Precision Health Platform and streaming data architecture. 
  • Transform healthcare data into FHIR-compliant representations, ensure that instantiated FHIR resources adhere to the appropriate FHIR profiles and internal standards.
  • Support a data integration strategy for ingestion of disparate healthcare data sources, i.e. EMRs, claims and 3rd party data, utilizing standard interoperability exchange protocols. 
  • Prepare design documents, participate in code review, attend cross functional team meetings specifically with Product and Software Engineering teams. Mentor and provide guidance to team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, MS degree in Clinical Informatics or a medical related field.
  • 5 years significant experience in data modeling, data integration, data quality and data standards working in the Healthcare or Life Sciences industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare knowledge standards, controlled terminologies (e.g. SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, etc),standard data models (e.g. OMOP, STDM, etc.) and healthcare interoperability standards; HL7 FHIR, HL7v2, X12, NCPDP, CCD-A etc.
  • Strong skills related to SQL, Python, R, dbt, and Jupyter Notebook; experience with cloud computing platforms and using version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) components and techniques.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, a consensus builder and team player with a collegial working style. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment across multiple simultaneous efforts with evolving timelines and priorities.
  • Knowledge of clinical practice and research. An understanding of operating procedures and workflows within a hospital or ambulatory setting.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $111,000 - $157,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
