AI Data Scientist* Personalized Computational Genomics 

We are seeking a highly talented and motivated researcher to join our Personalized Computational Genomics team to support the development of cutting-edge personalized cancer vaccines. With BioNTech you will become a global expert in the development of a completely novel personalized immunotherapy against cancer using personalized cancer vaccines. Your main responsibilities are:

• Develop innovative bioinformatic methods for our personalized cancer vaccine platform using rigorous mathematical approaches.
• Implement a “big data” database for clinical NGS data and investigate it using advanced AI, statistical, and other methods.
• Create and analyze NGS datasets using state-of-the-art and in-house bioinformatic tools and pipelines.
• Maintain and improve scalable AWS infrastructure, including compute and storage systems.
• Automate data acquisition, pipeline application, and data analysis to generate a reliable and efficient process.
• Develop expertise in cancer genomics, follow cutting edge developments in the field and support publishing our research in leading scientific journals.

What you have to offer:

• PhD in physics or computer science with a strong background in statistics and a passion for data
• Strong programming skills
• Track record in AI and deep learning
• Experience in implementing databases would be advantageous
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS) including HPC systems and knowledge of Terraform (IaC) would be advantageous
• Knowledge in NGS would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent command of English
