About Hearth

Hearth exists because 50 - 80% of small businesses in the trades (roofers, plumbers, etc.) fail within their first five years.  Our mission is to change that forever and empower small businesses to build and grow successful companies.

We've built an all-in-one platform that helps SMBs grow sales, protect profits, and save time. With over 10,000 customers, Hearth is a vertical SaaS platform powered by a financial services layer that is currently powering billions in home improvement projects. We are growing, profitable in our base case, and are working to disrupt a fragmented, underserved, and $600B market.

Backed by the same investors as SpaceX, Stripe, Palantir, AirBnb, Rippling, Affirm, Brex, and OpenAI (FoundersFund, 8VC, Human Capital), we aim to protect small business entrepreneurship in America, redefine what is possible in running a trades business in today's rapidly changing world, and bring forth a future where every small business owner in the trades can succeed.

The Opportunity

Hearth is at an exciting point of growth, and we are looking for the right Senior Product Manager to help us accelerate. We are expanding Hearth’s product development organization and are looking to fill an important and impactful role - senior product manager - to help lead and co-create the future of the technology.

You will work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO, as well as across our diverse teams to build impactful technology that measurably helps small business owners and homeowners across the country.

This role is ideal for someone who is seeking a career-defining opportunity at this point in their growth to prove their skills/thinking, pull the best out of themselves, and drive business impact for a company that’s primed for significant growth. You will own the entire product lifecycle from strategy to execution and make decisions that directly inflect the curve for customer success and business growth.

The right fit is someone who is scrappy with early-stage experience, deeply customer-centric, and is skilled at leading an iterative, data-driven product process in a fast-paced environment.  In this pivotal role, your ideas will be valued, your skills will be tested, and your contributions will directly enhance the lives of small businesses and homeowners across America.

What You’ll Do:

  • Use data to understand users, their product usage, and help translate insights into recommendations for product, marketing, and business strategies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketers to transform data insights into actionable decisions.
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business health, product performance, and customer experience.
  • Build reports, visualizations, and dashboards to make insights easily accessible to stakeholders.
  • Support the team in running experiments (e.g., A/B tests), analyzing results, and communicating findings to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to building and optimizing processes that use data insights to answer business questions.
  • Help improve product team decisions by leveraging data analytics to enhance the customer experience.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data-focused role (as an analyst, data engineer or similar)
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying; some exposure to Python or R is a plus.
  • Solid analytical foundation;  you have a good understanding of product and business metrics, and knowledge of statistical methods
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Mode, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail; your analyses are always high quality, accurate, and easy to understand
  • You have a scrappy ‘get things done’ mentality, and the ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Strong communicator; you can crisply communicate actionable data-driven insights to all audiences
  • Exposure to experimentation (A/B testing) is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in SMB SaaS environments is advantageous but not required.

Our Core Values

  • Truth. We value honesty and data. We seek to understand what is reality, so we can effectively respond to it.
  • Slope. Rate of change over time. We hire and reward based on a team member’s potential, capacity, and growth-mindset, rather than a fancy resume.
  • Mutual Benefit. The best outcomes happen when everyone wins - customers, team members, and the company. We seek to understand each other’s aspirations and create alignment to get there.
  • Competitive Greatness. We desire an opportunity and environment from which to pull the greatest versions of ourselves out into the world, rather than just a “job”.

Location

This role will be located in NYC along with the rest of the technical Hearth team, the CEO, and other key roles in the business. Hearth believes in the energy, connection, and serendipity of in-person/hybrid work culture (3+ days/week) for builders who are committed to building innovative software and making a significant positive impact in the world.

Benefits

  • Mission-driven, values-based culture.
  • Competitive pay.
  • Unmatched opportunities to learn and develop; front-row seat at a fast-growing tech startup
  • Unlimited PTO, plus paid company holidays.
  • Meaningful equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision options.
  • 401(k)
  • Free Employee Assistance Program
  • Parental Leave Program
