Job Summary

At E15, our Data Engineering team is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge data reporting solutions to both internal and external clients. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution. Your mission: to transform complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications, ensuring that our data assets consistently exceed user expectations.

Who You Are:

  • A strategic thinker with strong business acumen who can understand and anticipate client needs.
  • A natural communicator, fluent in both business and technical languages, who can clearly articulate requirements to technical teams.
  • A self-starter with a passion for data, excited to collaborate with developers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver exceptional data products.

Your Impact: As part of a highly motivated and innovative data services team, you’ll collaborate with Business Intelligence Developers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and software developers to build and deliver industry-leading BI products. Your work will directly impact how our clients—from across the broader E15 and Compass organizations—leverage data to drive decision-making and innovation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the intake process: You’ll work closely with our Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to gather, refine, and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with client needs.
  • Be the voice of the client: Ensure delivered data assets meet client expectations by maintaining open communication, documenting feedback, and adapting to evolving requirements.
  • Manage our project catalog: You’ll be responsible for maintaining and updating the project asset catalog (Secoda.co), ensuring that all data products are accurately cataloged and documented.
  • Collaborate with SMEs: Engage with subject matter experts across E15 and Compass to gain a deep understanding of our business and ensure that data products align with organizational objectives.
  • Document data assets: Assess and document the data currently produced by clients, ensuring quality, consistency, and availability are up to standard.
  • Craft technical specs: Write detailed technical requirements for our developer teams to turn business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Present and receive feedback: Showcase new data products and features to stakeholders, ensuring their input is integrated into future iterations.
  • Work in an agile environment: You’ll collaborate with project managers and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet the highest quality standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in reporting and business analysis, with a track record of translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • SQL Skills: Intermediate level SQL proficiency to help interpret data and communicate with technical teams.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfortable presenting data products and technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders, turning complex data insights into understandable business value.
  • Attention to Detail: You’re meticulous when it comes to documenting requirements and ensuring data quality.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong soft skills that allow you to build relationships and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

If you’re passionate about data, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we’d love to have you on our team. Join us in shaping the future of data reporting at E15!
