Azure Data Engineer

On behalf of our client, a software house leader in Internet Services and Solutions with a large clientele in the private and public sector, we are currently looking for a talented Azure Data Engineer, to join its highly-skilled team of professionals in Athens.

Your day-to-day

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory or Azure Databricks for ingesting, transforming, and integrating data across various sources
• Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database for structured, transactional data, ensuring performance, scalability, and data quality
• Utilize Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Stream Analytics, and other Azure data pipelining tools to process and analyze data in real-time or batch
• Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data is available and ready for Power BI or Azure Analysis Services reporting and dashboards
• Participate in data modeling sessions and contribute to the design of effective data schemas

Requirements

• 3+ years of proven working experience as a Data Engineer
• Solid experience with Azure Data Factory or Azure Databricks for building and managing data pipelines
• Good knowledge of T-SQL for handling transactional and structured data
• Familiarity with Azure Stream Analytics, or other relevant Azure data pipeline tools (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake)
• Experience working with real-time or near real time Data Engineering projects

Competencies

• Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting 
• Experience with data modeling
• Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) 
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipeline automation
• Exposure to other data processing tools (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Azure Service Bus)
