SUMMARY:

The Master Data Manager manages the creation, implementation, and maintenance of master data management solutions that enable users to optimize system capabilities. This position over sees a team of MDM (Master Data Management) professionals that analyze and enrich master data elements and optimize the flow of data between teams inside the organization. Manages master data governance and ensures data integrity for supplier information. This position will oversee initiatives to improve the master data management process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a team of MDM professionals, ensuring coverage for all day-to-day management of MDM functions, appraises teams’ performance, coordinates vacations and training opportunities, makes hiring and staffing recommendations, and coaches and develops team.
  • Maintains a trusted single source of accurate product and supplier data to facilitate the best decisions end users can make for the future of the business.
  • Manages new item process including compiling, evaluating, analyzing, and entering acquisition cost and supplier pricing for new item requests. 
  • Establish and maintain governance relating to the quality of Supply Operations master data, adapting as needed to changing business trends and requirements; operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, to define business rules, and to implement and improve data standards, integrity, and consistency
  • Collaborate across business functions to identify opportunities for data and process integration; evaluate and make recommendations regarding proposed design modifications
  • Define and communicate guidelines to business partners to enforce data standards while supporting business needs
  • Collaborate with IT and function leaders to design, develop, and build data solutions that support business requirements within Covetrus systems
  • Establish key business relationships to continuously review and refine data requirements needed to meet organizational objectives
  • Develop and implement data quality measurement criteria; monitor KPIs for team and implement improvement initiatives as needed to increase timeliness and accuracy of onboarding new products and suppliers
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and are consistently adhered to
  • Work with Business stakeholders as appropriate to resolve any issues and improve process efficiencies
  • Act as Lead for projects related to Data Management
  • Make recommendations for process improvements based on audit results to ensure data integrity and adherence to all SOX and Data Governance policies and procedures
  • Develops in-depth understanding of systems and analytics tools used by the organization (including, but not limited to Excel, Metrics Dashboard, Price List Manager, AS/400 and STIBO and other information systems) 
  • Acts as a change agent who is dedicated to inspiring and fostering valuable change
  • Performs other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or related program required

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience demonstrating success leading master data management programs in a global organization
  • Demonstrated experience focusing on the customer (internal and external) and providing strong customer service.
  • Knowledge of MDM concepts, benefits, best practices, and challenges
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end business processes, e.g., Demand/Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics and Order Management.
  • Proven experience in business process development
  • Expertise leading efforts with cross-functional stakeholders 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience managing and leading a team.
  • Strong PC skills with demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook e-mail.
  • Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, organization, and negotiation skills.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent internal and external customer service as well as the ability to operate as a team member. 
  • Must have strong computer typing skills.
  • Prefer experience in a medical product distribution environment.
