Service Data Engineer

Description -

This role is responsible for potentially leading data engineering efforts for projects, supporting application projects, and ensuring smooth integration of deliverables. The role owns database incidents and problems, engages in database development and maintenance, and plays a vital role in ensuring database security and accuracy. The role collaborates with subject matter experts for resolving complex incidents and addressing gaps in data collection and modelling. The role also contributes to documentation, data modeling, analysis, and knowledge sharing, while solving problems independently within company guidelines.

Responsibilities
• Supports application projects, potentially serving as the data engineering lead for small projects and ensuring seamless integration of the deliverables with other project outcomes.
• Engages in database development and maintenance activities, including designing database environments, modifying, testing, releasing/deploying, and maintaining straightforward database objects.
• Ensures the upkeep of database security and audit trails, while also assisting in executing or testing database recovery and monitoring databases.
• Takes ownership of database incidents and problems, providing resolutions for moderately complex incidents, and involving subject matter experts to address more complex incidents.
• Assists in DBMS software patching or upgrades, performing tasks in adherence to designated work plans, checklists, and processes.
• Creates analytics tools utilizing the data pipeline, delivering insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and key performance metrics.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to grasp business goals and the role of data in achieving them, identifying gaps in data collections and proactively addressing them.
• Generates and maintains logical and physical data models for simple databases and projects, while also participating in formal data modelling reviews.
• Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture.
• Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics/ Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in analytics, data science, reporting, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.

The base pay range for this role is $73,600 to $104,900 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
