Position Summary

This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about innovation in data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques. The team currently uses an industry-leading scalable data platform and techniques in creating solutions to challenging business problems. This role will require frequent interaction with project stakeholders and business partners at all levels of the organization. This is a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative environment requiring quick learning, agility, and flexibility.


Responsibilities
Designs systems that utilize data-oriented programming languages and visualization software to explore, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms and solve complex business problems.
Defines data science initiatives by utilizing data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning techniques to extract data from multiple sources and deliver predictive models that inform solutions.
Designs and develops data solutions that meet client requirements and organizational quality standards by leveraging industry-leading tools, technologies, and best practices to profile and translate data.
Applies data science expertise and machine learning knowledge to improve patient care capabilities, optimize healthcare operations, and drive evidence-based decision-making.
Develops and implements analytical frameworks, key metrics, and performance dashboards to monitor, measure, and evaluate healthcare quality, efficiency, and performance. 
Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization, including executives, clinicians, Information Technology (IT) professionals, and business analysts, to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions.
Delivers presentations and consultative services to existing and prospective constituents on data analytics results and solutions.
Improves professional data science knowledge by staying up to date on innovative data analysis techniques, visualization tools and software, and object-oriented programming languages.
Helps establish and implement programs that ensure departmental adherence to all applicable data governance policies and procedures by educating team members on data science best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with data analytics or a combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning techniques, Python, Spark, and visualization tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in information security, proven experience designing data science workflow solutions for production environments, working knowledge of statistical methods for analyzing data (central tendency, error analysis, analysis of outliers), deep knowledge and experience in machine learning, security, and network data to model risk-driven models of consumer and workforce behavior and provide context to security analysts to drive business decisions

  • 3+ years of experience discussing business problems and requirements with customers and designing solutions

  • 3+ years of experience being responsible for the end-to-end creation and deployment of new analytic offerings to support our internal and external clients.

  • 3+ years of experience being involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle from requirements gathering, hypothesis generation, ideation, programming, testing, and implementation of new processes and tools.

  • 3+ years Analyzing log, security, and cybersecurity intelligence data and using quantitative methods to create actionable and timely data products.

  • 3+ years of client interfacing experience (internal or external), demonstrating excellent ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form, and reliable executive presence.

  • 3+ years of extensive experience in big data, analytics, programming, statistics, and cybersecurity. Experience with healthcare cybersecurity is strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience in predictive analytic modeling, preferably in large volume, high velocity, categorical data sets such as machine data.

  • Proven experience with statistical modeling for linear and logistic regression, non-parametric statistical tests, and non-gaussian distributions, including model efficacy measures and associated assumptions.

  • Creative problem solver, driven to answer complicated questions in a meaningful manner using scientific techniques.

  • Extensive experience with Python, SQL, Hive, Hadoop, and Spark.

  • Experience with data visualization techniques, principles, and tools, such as Plotly.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form.

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or other STEM fields -  Master's degree preferred

Education

Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $166,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
