What You’ll be Doing
The Analyst will support the Director of Data Quality and Reconciliations team, Treasury Data Management to ensure the data integrity in Treasury owned applications. The role will ensure the data quality for Treasury reporting on a daily/ weekly/ monthly/ quarterly, or annual basis. The role will support Treasury QRM end-to-end production as it relates to reporting, reconciliation and manual adjustment. In addition, the incumbent will take part in various data quality control and data issue solution, manual adjustment automations and work on the projects or initiatives from data management internally or requested by business partners, e.g. Treasury LMG (Liquidity Management Group) and Liquidity Reporting teams, and ALM (Asset Liability Management), FTP (Funding Transfer Pricing), Capital Management teams etc. The incumbent will ensure all activities are properly documented and in accordance with the enterprise change management guidelines and SLAs.

How you'll succeed
- Accountability- Take accountability of month-end balance sheet and off balance sheet reconciliation processes for assigned products and ensure unreconciled variances are within expected thresholds.
- Analysis- Identify, analysis, investigates and resolves reconciliation variances, in order to ensure that daily/monthly/quarterly/annual regulatory reporting requirements are met on time. Support Liquidity reporting manual adjustment process as needed
- Data Management- Monitor and remediate data issues impacting reconciliations and reporting related to assigned products, as well as other critical data elements as defined by the business
- Provide Support- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Accounting and Reconciliation group by ensuring information supplied to users of the financial information is accurate, complete and provided on a timely basis. Assist with ad hoc data inquiries/requests from business partners. Conduct in-depth analysis, applying strong problem solving skills and business knowledge to resolve issues and support management decisions
- Reviews- Conduct periodic review of the data quality control processes to identify gaps or areas for improvement, and keep up to date on ever-changing business developments and the evolving regulatory environment. Support Data Management and Project Delivery initiatives (both Treasury and Strategic Business Unit Initiated) and participate in projects and assess impacts to reconciliation as required
- Controls and Process Enhancement- Maintain an appropriate internal control environment including adequate documentation. Ensure Finance-owned controls are performed on a regular basis to identify/manage exposure to risks, escalating issues as appropriate. Work with internal and/or external auditors when required. Identify and implement areas of improvement within the group, develop and implement sound business processes, practices and technical solutions to address business issues/challenges where applicable under the SOX guidelines
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience in Industry-related experience preferably in the areas of data warehousing, relational databases, and Liquidity reporting
- You have a degree Equivalent to University degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
- You are Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, MS Access, Work, Excel and PowerPoint
- You are analytical. Strong problem solving, analytical, judgment and reporting capabilities. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy. Self-started, able to work independency and take ownership. Delivery focused. Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities
- You work well with others. Ability to establish and build working relationships and partnerships with the business as well as peers and wide variety of stakeholders (Finance, Risk Management, Technology, etc.)
- It would be an asset to have Knowledge of CIBC operating policies, standards and organizational structure. Experience with Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) system is beneficialKnowledge on Accounting standard and rules would be a bonus
