THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Consumer & Market Insights team’s aim is to understand our customers’ needs and wants and to enable our internal stakeholders to see the world through consumers’ eyes to make game-changing decisions. Asking the right questions to the right respondents in research projects for all of the 25 markets Zalando is currently operating in, we make sure we understand our current and potential customers better every day and increase our competitive advantage.

To be most effective, we build strong relationships with other internal teams, especially the Market General Managers. Together with business intelligence, product analytics, and economics teams, we provide a holistic 360° understanding of customer needs and behaviours.

As a Market Research Analyst, you deliver insights that support strategic decision making of diverse stakeholders throughout Zalando on a variety of topics. 

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

  • You are responsible for supporting quantitative market research projects and making sure reports are delivered on time and of high quality.

  • Based on your consumer insights experience, you have solid project management skills, you are actively learning new research design methods, and are able to translate research findings into business recommendations to guide customer centric decisions in our markets. 

  • With your communication skills you share your insights and recommendations with Market General Managers, and other key stakeholder groups across Zalando.

  • You collaborate with data analysts to uncover holistic insights that combine survey (perception) data with onsite and transactional (behavioural) data

 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree in Marketing/Market Research, Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Statistics or Psychology or comparable subject, with an academic record of high achievement.

  • Knowledge of basic research methods including questionnaire design, multivariate analytics, and reporting gained  through 3+ years of hands-on experience in a market research agency or as a client-side market researcher.

  • Solid business understanding which allows you to connect the dots, skillfully manage complex stakeholder landscapes, and focus the attention of the organisation on insights that have impact. 

  • Understanding of data science and statistical methods (e. g. inferential inference, quasi-experiments, machine learning models)

  • Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively in ad hoc research projects and continuous tracking studies.

  • You have a purpose-first mind-set and customer-oriented attitude and your working style is proactive and solution-oriented to support our stakeholders.

  • Bonus if you are skilled in coding for data processing and analysis in R or Python, and can query data with SQL via DataBricks, Superset, or similar platform.
