Job Description Summary
Transamerica/TFA is looking for a candidate with expertise in Informix 4GL and/or 4Js Genero BDL to support Caesar and lead the development of Business Intelligence and Analytics products. Responsibilities include managing data warehouse, creating visualizations, and generating interactive reports to drive organizational profitability and strategic goals.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Development: Spearhead the development of database solutions and data presentation systems.
- Database Expertise: Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly Informix.
- Programming: Investigate and troubleshoot issues, create and modify programs in Caesar using Informix 4GL and/or 4Js Genero BDL.
- Operating System Proficiency: Experience with AIX or similar operating systems, alongside shell scripting capabilities.
- User Needs Analysis: Analyze, document, and understand user requirements to ensure accurate fulfillment of internal business customers’ requests.
- Business Intelligence Knowledge: Maintain continuous development of expertise in Business Intelligence technology, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, OLAP functionality, and reporting tools.
- ETL Processes: Execute and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using T-SQL/4GL.
- Project Collaboration: Contribute to and lead project teams in the development or modification of sophisticated information solutions.
- Data Warehouse Administration: Administer, maintain, and enhance the data warehouse.
- Model Construction: Potentially construct data models, data dictionaries, and report glossaries as needed.
- User Training: Conduct user interviews and provide training sessions to enhance understanding and usage of data solutions.
- Testing Facilitation: Conduct and facilitate internal testing and user acceptance testing to ensure quality deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Seven years of experience in business intelligence or data management.
- Strong understanding of BI concepts and tools.
- Experience leading a full lifecycle BI project team from a technical leadership perspective.
- Experience with Microsoft BI stack.
- Experience with Tableau or other visualization tool.
- Significant experience developing physical dimensional models or data visualizations.
- Significant experience in data modeling, data discovery and the application of data to resolve business problems.
- Problem-solving ability and a willingness to think “outside-the-box”.

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $102,000 - $120,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 15% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
