UX/UI Developer Intern (MySQL Heatwave) - 8 month on-site internship

Intern Role intended for current students (BS/MS/PhD) AND enrolled in a full-time degree program after completion of the internship. Work Location: Redwood Shores, CADuration: 8 months onsite

The Team:

The Corporate Architecture organization develops core technologies used to build the autonomous, secure, and intelligent Oracle Cloud. These technologies enable companies of all sizes to innovate faster, improve customer engagement, and defend and protect every aspect of the enterprise to redefine how businesses compete in a digital world.

Corporate Architecture works with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality, blockchain, IoT, chatbots, and human interface technology. We are also developing other innovative technology, such as core to edge security services, modern cloud native applications, opensource database, identity management, opensource development tools, secure remote access tools, virtualization, and sophisticated operating systems. What You’ll Do:

• Be responsible for creating, evaluating, and modifying prototypes to support evolving projects.
• Develop rich, easy to use, web-based interfaces for a set of console designs.
• Develop and apply software design and usability processes in the investigation of technical problems to improve enterprise applications.
• Drive the lifecycle of the UI for features – from ideation through wireframing, prototyping. Be involved in the complete delivery of the features by testing and validating the feature against the design.
• Collaborate with other designers, product managers, engineering teams to implement UI features and iterate through requirements at rapid pace.
• May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
• You will partner closely with your fellow designers to innovate by designing coherent, seamless, and emotionally resonant, brand new user experiences for our users.

 

What You’ll Bring: (Objective Minimum Qualifications)

To be considered for an internship position with HeatWave, you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these qualifications either on your resume and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript. 

• Current undergraduate junior-year student graduating by Spring 2026 with a passion for design and interest in entering the UX Design field; extensive design experience
• Pursuing a degree program in Computer Science, Product Design, Computer Graphics, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Media Arts, Visual Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, Content Design, and more.
• Ability to work from our office located in Redwood City, CA for the full 8-month duration.
• Attend a university in the US.
• Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2025.
• Are proficient (i.e., able to complete coding projects with no assistance) in at least two of the following programming languages:
  • Java
  • Python
  • HTML/CSS
  • JavaScript
• Are proficient (i.e., able to complete projects with no assistance) in at least two of the following areas:
  • Figma
  • Adobe Suite
  • Sketch
  • Webflow
  • UX research
  • Branding

About You (Preferred Qualifications)

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Previous internship experience

US: Hiring Range: from $18.99 to $53.00 per hour; from $39,500 to $110,240 per annum.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
