This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cloud data architecture and AWS services, committed to building secure, scalable data ecosystems that empower informed decision-making across Prevail.
Responsibilities:
This role goes beyond technical design—it's about setting standards and building a data architecture that serves our strategic vision. While the following outlines your core responsibilities, your contributions will extend further to support our ambitious growth.
- Data Architecture Design: Design high-performance, scalable, and future-ready data solutions on AWS that align with projected business needs and technical requirements. Collaborate with senior leadership to advance a cloud-native data strategy that enhances our operational capabilities.
- Cloud and Data Expertise: Lead best practices in data governance, storage, integration, and analytics to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Data Compliance and Security Management: Establish and maintain a robust framework for data management to ensure quality, security, and compliance. Introduce tooling to support these standards, creating a secure and compliant data environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to translate complex challenges into scalable, effective solutions. Your ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams will support overarching company goals.
- Mentorship and Guidance for Engineering Teams: Lead by example, providing architectural guidance and best practices to optimise data pipelines for performance and efficiency. Share your expertise to elevate standards of scalability and maintainability within the team.
Requirements
You will have previous experience:
- Seasoned Expertise: Very strong experience in data architecture, engineering, or related fields, with several years focused on AWS services.
- AWS Proficiency: Skilled in AWS-native data services, including EC2, Athena, S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, and Glue.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Competent in IaC tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, bringing automation and resilience to our data infrastructure.
- Vision, Adaptability, and Insight: Proven ability to design resilient architectures that adapt to evolving business needs and diverse client requirements.
- Data Science and Analytics Acumen: Strong understanding of data processing, streaming technologies, and ETL governance, supporting complex data science and analytics needs.
- AWS Security Competence: Comprehensive knowledge of networking, security, and identity management within AWS environments.
- Compliance Leadership: Extensive experience in data compliance, managing secure frameworks, and adhering to regulatory standards, including managing sensitive data categories.
- Collaboration and Communication Skills: Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you a valued partner across multidisciplinary teams.
