We are seeking a Sr.BI Developer who will be responsible for.......


Leading our dedicated business intelligence team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in developing and implementing Power BI solutions and will be adept at managing a small team of developers. 

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of data models and scalable solutions that provide critical business insights.

  • Lead and manage a small team of Power BI developers, overseeing small to medium-scale business intelligence projects from inception to completion.
  • Enhance existing business intelligence solutions by overseeing coding, testing, and deployment of data solutions, dashboards, and reports using Power BI.
  • Offer operational support and incident management for assigned systems, communicating updates and issues to internal team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and dashboard/report designs.
  • Administer and ensure the stability and performance of the Power BI platform, maintaining a production environment that meets the business needs.
  • Strategize with team members to plan and execute Power BI system implementations, upgrades, security, auditing, configuration, and evaluate additional improvements.
  • Oversee Power BI tenant and capacity settings, ensuring changes are implemented following change management protocols.
  • Schedule and perform maintenance on servers, including patching and software updates.
  • Stay proactive regarding new Microsoft Power BI Service, gateway, and desktop releases, evaluating their impact and taking necessary actions.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for production and platform issues.
  • Establish and document best practices, standards, and guidelines for BI tool usage and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and agreed service levels, positioning the platform accordingly.
  • Function as a Power BI subject matter expert, providing ongoing training and technical guidance to empower a self-service environment and standardize content development processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other IT teams to meet ongoing business needs through the Power BI environment.
  • Regularly report to management on project statuses, benchmarks, issues, system implementations, and upgrades, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Communicate production issue statuses to business units and the BI team promptly and clearly.
  • Promote cross-functional training and mentoring to support team growth and development.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support the team and adhere to company policies.



Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in Power BI development, with at least 1 year in a managerial role preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX/MDX, Azure DevOps, HTML, JSON, and SQL Server.
  • Preferred experience with Python & PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong grasp of data integration, data architecture, and SQL Server database technology.
  • Expertise in SDLC processes and project management for IT solutions delivery.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into functional and non-functional system requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of security methodologies (RLS), policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Power BI products, licensing, and integration within complex environments.
  • Expert skills in connecting to various data sources and troubleshooting platform and client issues
