Senior Software Engineer

Working Hours: we would ideally like the candidate to be able to work with us until 11:30 am PST. The shift timing would be from 4PM IST - 12.00AM IST. This is a completely remote opportunity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in ETL and back-end development, you will work with a cross functional team responsible for the continued development and scaling of a high-profile Gen AI product at a large biotechnology company. Working with the team you will design, develop, and optimize data workflows, infrastructure and APIs in support of new feature development and refinement of existing workflows.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

• Architect and deploy efficient, scalable ETL pipelines to handle large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and loading, ensuring high data availability and integrity. 

• Develop and maintain backend architecture, with a focus on building reliable, secure APIs and data integrations that support seamless data flow across systems. 

• Create and maintain infrastructure components and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment, enhance reliability, and automate recurring workflows. 

• Establish automated testing and monitoring solutions to ensure data quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration with front-end systems. 

• Document architectures, processes, and technical decisions 

Desired Qualifications 

Please note that while you do not need to be an expert in every area, being familiar with most of the following is important. We are looking for someone who can effectively integrate everything, with team support to fill any gaps.  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. 

• Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and additional data processing languages. 

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow), data modeling, and data warehousing. 

• Proficiency in AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, RDS, Glue) for data processing and back-end applications. 

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and containerization using Docker. 

• Ideally, familiarity with ML/Gen AI services and libraries, such as AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, PyTorch 

• Proven track record as an independent contributor in an agile team, capable of delivering complex solutions with minimal supervision.  

• Experience with healthcare, life sciences is a plus.
