About the Role:

PitchBook is looking for a motivated Data Analyst intern to support the Leveraged Commentary & Data (LCD) Research team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced financial environment, working closely with industry professionals on leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, and private debt markets. You will assist in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets, that will contribute to various productions of research. Our Summer Internship is a full–time program (40 hours per week) running from June 2nd – August 8th 2025 (specific dates vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with research analysts in collecting and cleaning financial data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, and integrity of leveraged finance datasets
- Use basic analytical tools such as Excel and SQL, to analyze market data, build financial models, and create datasets to support research
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and data visualizations for internal teams and external customers
- Validate and audit data need for ongoing research projects
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, and related majors preferred
- To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of financial markets, with an interest in pursuing a career in Finance, Research, or Data Analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Familiarity with relational databases and coding languages
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and concepts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation
- Annual hourly rate: $25/hour
Working Conditions:
We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3 days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
