Data Analyst

We’re looking for a data analyst to join our team and help our operations teams succeed by getting them timely, accurate data and reporting. You’ll work with data from across Shakepay and use it to drive effective decisions and recommendations. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the systems and processes that power our business and use that to become an effective contributor across multiple domains within operations. Working alongside data scientists and data engineers, you’ll sharpen your technical skills every day and be a core contributor on a tight knit team.

What you’ll be doing 

• Work within the central Data Platform team at Shakepay and gain broad exposure to various internal teams and challenges, building and organizing their BI assets. 
• Be responsible for delivering or triaging incoming data requests from various stakeholders across the business. 
• Participate in team projects that expose you to both data science and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with data practitioners to share knowledge and participate in the evolution of Shakepay’s internal data platform, tooling and culture.
• Conduct ad hoc investigations and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Be the owner of our text-to-sql chatbot, helping it improve iteratively by curating a library of verified queries.

Who we’re looking for 

• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships or coursework welcome).
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
• Foundational Python skills (e.g., data manipulation with Pandas, basic scripting).
• Basic understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Apache Superset/Preset, Metabase).

Bonus points

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake).
• Startup experience is a big plus, bonus points for B2C fintech experience.
• Basic understanding of ETL processes and data engineering concepts.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake).
• Some familiarity with dbt (our data transformation tool).
• Interest and enthusiasm for the possibilities enabled by Bitcoin and non-sovereign money.
• Strong meme game - bring your rarest Pepes.
