About the Role 

 

As a Life & Health Financial Analyst you will play a fundamental role in the L&H Re Finance Department in the Data & Insights team to provide transparency into the L&H business globally.  

 

In the team you will:  

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the performance measures and the technical aspects of risk selection of a (re)insurance company under IFRS reporting
  • Use your strong analytical, data processing and communication skills to provide opinions and value-add input while helping to make sure data is comprehensive, complete and well understood 
  • Increase capability of the team through bringing multiple data sources into our central platform to transform data and models into a story, from concept to implementation to give insights into the L&H business 
  • Create and manage standardised visualisation of the key data stories and business messages to support senior executives in driving the organisation both internally and externally 
  • The role requires a high level of interaction and coordination of activities with teams in multiple countries including Regional Finance and Actuarial.

 

About the Team 

 

Within Reinsurance Finance, our team is responsible for financial data analysis and the enhancement of tools for sharing information in the L&H Reinsurance worldwide.

From our data and network in the company we aim to provide senior management with key insights into business performance, guiding them to make accurate and impactful decisions.  

The larger team acts as a CFO function for the Head of L&H Products and the Head of L&H Business Management. 

Finally, we work closely with the pricing and actuarial teams across the globe to ensure both the financial information and the insights are of high quality. 

 

About You 

 

  • University degree, preferably in statistics, economics, finance, business administration or natural sciences. Actuarial background is a plus 
  • Capable of analysing numbers critically and drawing out relevant conclusions 
  • Good MS Excel skills and programming skills (PySpark, Python, R or similar)  
  • Basic understanding of financial statements (IFRS17 particularly)
  • Interested in using new technologies (i.e. cloud technology for developing data pipelines)
  • Team player, reliable, open-minded, creative and enthusiastic  
  • Enjoy working in a multicultural team 
  • Excelled oral & written English. Other languages a plus.
