About the Role:
Are you passionate about food innovation, ensuring quality & regulatory compliance and maintaining product excellence? We are seeking a dynamic Local Product Integrity & Data Management Manager to join our team.
In this pivotal role, you'll report to the Local UK R&D Manager and the Group Food Safety & Product Integrity Centre Manager, serving as the key player for local product integrity and recipe compliance. You'll coordinate, maintain, and create accurate product recipe data, driving business innovation and objectives. As part of the UK R&D function and closely linked to our central Food Safety & Product Integrity Centre, you'll collaborate with local R&D development and project management teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
You'll provide indispensable technical and regulatory support, guiding product innovation and ensuring alignment with Food Law requirements. You'll conduct risk assessments, formalise local recipes, manage the change control process, and review raw material and recipe amendments for regulatory compliance. Collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team to document, communicate, and execute changes on time, maintaining synchronisation between our recipe and manufacturing systems.
You'll assess recipes against UK & Ireland regulations and Ferrero's global standards, compiling and uploading essential technical documentation. Stay ahead of local legislation changes to keep our products compliant and innovative. You'll support Product Integrity by defining internal requirements and sharing insights on local standards. Align products with Group objectives, including CSR and BSR, and implement requirements for local products, such as halal and vegetarian options. Manage alerts, emerging risks, and non-conformities to maintain top safety and quality standards.
Provide expert technical and regulatory advice for potential raw material substitutions and amendments. You'll support the central Product Integrity team by offering valuable insights on local regulations. Ensure raw materials meet the highest standards, driving innovation and excellence.
Serve as a central hub for local teams, offering critical technical support, risk-based analysis, and regulatory insights. You'll advise on local Food Law, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and internal standards. Deliver technical-scientific support to local Quality, Industrial, and PTPM teams, aiding in risk assessments.
Support Local R&D and Marketing in developing standout local products by providing regulatory frameworks, constraints, and technical advice. Assist in improving existing products and integrating M&A products, ensuring compliance with Ferrero standards and regulatory requirements.
You'll ensure seamless integration of local M&A products into Ferrero systems, maintaining integrity and accuracy in recipe reporting. Provide critical support for system improvements, identifying issues, gaps, and potential risks.
You'll manage personnel effectively by defining clear activity plans and fostering a productive work environment. Support professional development by evaluating performance, proposing targeted training, and driving development initiatives.
Who we are looking for:
To excel in this role, you’ll need extensive knowledge and experience in UK and EU food regulations, including staying abreast of new developments. You should be adept at interpreting regulatory and technical documents with a keen eye for detail.
Commercial awareness is essential, as well as the ability to make sound, risk-based assessments. We’re looking for a strong critical thinker with effective communication skills, capable of adapting your style to various situations.
Being self-motivated, highly organised, and able to prioritise tasks efficiently are also key to thriving in this position.
You'll need a solid background in an FMCG organisation, showcasing your experience in a fast-paced consumer goods environment.
Proficiency with SAP is essential, as you'll be using it regularly. Experience with Devex is an advantage. Your ability to manage and implement change control processes will be crucial, demonstrating your experience with these systems.
While not essential, experience with on-pack labelling for grocery products and a background in legal labelling would be highly advantageous. A scientific Masters degree or PhD in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or a related field is also a plus, adding valuable depth to your expertise.
