RWE Programmer Intern (Data Science and Statistical programming in R)

Join IQVIA Bulgaria as an R Programmer Intern in the Real-World Evidence and Methods Generation team and help us deliver high-quality scientific research to our clients in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.  The internship offered by the group is an arrangement where IQVIA aims to provide an entry-level candidate with an opportunity to apply their skills in a professional setting on live client projects.

All interns must have the right to work in Bulgaria for the duration of their internship. Successful graduates of the internship programme will be considered for a permanent Analyst role.

Our goal is to contribute to the body of scientific evidence that allows medical practitioners to treat patients in the most effective way, and health systems to include as many patients as possible.  We use data, collected for clinical and other purposes to answer research questions such as "which treatment works best in the real world, beyond the clinical trial setting?" Your primary responsibilities as a Programmer Intern in our team will be wide ranging, but may involve:

• Contributing to the programming of the analysis of real-world data (RWD) studies (data cleaning, data pre-processing and analysis, reporting of summarised results and graphs), programming in R.
• Gaining experience with health care data and statistical methods.
• Contributing to internal initiatives for automation of the project delivery processes (R packages development, R Shiny applications development, creating documentation, manuals, presentations).
• Collaborate with people with different roles (statisticians, epidemiologists, medics) and from international teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• To be currently studying for (or recently completed) an MSc or BSc in Software engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or in another Scientific or quantitative discipline.
• Programming skills in R or in another programming language.
• A proactive, creative, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently.
• Ability to achieve results within a multi-cultural and geographically diverse team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualities

• Experience in R, Python or SAS
• Experience with healthcare or genetic data
• Interests in Data science and AI
