About Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Manager - Data and AI to lead initiatives across research, model testing, university engagement, and data governance. This role will drive the organization’s efforts to advance AI research, ensure model robustness, and uphold data governance standards. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between academic research and practical implementation, ensuring our data and AI solutions are reliable, innovative, and aligned with best practices.

What you will do:

• Drive applied research initiatives in AI/ML and data science to fuel innovation within the organization.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, fostering research collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Lead rigorous testing of machine learning models to meet performance, accuracy, and stability standards before deployment.
• Develop testing protocols, including stress tests, bias analysis, and validation processes to ensure model quality.
• Implement data observability practices, monitoring data flow, quality, and lineage to maintain data reliability.
• Enforce data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance across the organization.
• Track data usage and performance metrics, addressing data quality issues and aligning with governance standards.
• Engage in research presentations, workshops, and thought leadership activities to elevate the organization’s profile in AI/ML.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML research, or related roles, with expertise in model testing and data governance.
• Proven experience managing research collaborations with academic institutions.
• Strong technical proficiency in AI/ML tools (Python, R, TensorFlow) and model testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of data observability tools and data governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
