Junior Tableau Developer

Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Sev1Tech is seeking a motivated Junior Tableau Developer to join our data visualization team in Rosslyn, VA. In this role, you will support maintaining our business intelligence platform and support various business units in migrating legacy reports, or create new ones primarily in Tableau. You will also design and develop interactive dashboards that provide insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making. This position requires a blend of technical skills, analytical abilities, and a strong grasp of data visualization best practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Dashboard Development: work with business unit to design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders. 

• Data Integration: Work with the data engineering team to integrate Tableau to various data sources, ensure data accuracy, and perform data transformations as needed. 

• Analysis & Reporting: Conduct data analysis to support business decisions, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. 

• Performance Optimization: Optimize Tableau dashboards for performance and usability, ensuring quick load times and user-friendly interfaces. 

• Platform Maintenance: Support the maintenance of the Tableau BI platform, including user access management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 

• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for developed Tableau dashboards, data models, and processes. 

• Training & Support: Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau usage and best practices. 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 

• 2+ years' experience with data visualization, business intelligence, and data analysis.
• 2+ years' experience with data integration and ETL processes. 

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep. 
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and manipulation. 
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with databases. 
• Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView) is a plus. 
• Tableau certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional). 
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R. 
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Security Clearance:

• Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship to get a DHS clearance

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
