The Aker BP Digital Execution Business Unit seeks two roles to strengthen the Analytics domain. One role focus on building and executing our future proof Analytics platform and establishing a centre of excellence for Analytics. The other role delivers full-stack analytics solutions to optimise product- and service delivery from the Digital Business Unit in Aker BP. 

 

For these roles we seek Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts and Fabric specialists who are motivated to building leading solutions on a strong Analytics architecture foundation. Successful candidates will be part of teams that leverage data analytics to Aker BP Digital in order to create a truly data driven, leading digital function.  

 

One position is part of the central Data Science & Analytics team.  Building Aker BP’s future backbone for data Analytics on Fabric, this team:  

  • Help AkerBP to implement Data Analytics solutions efficiently using the best and most up-to-date knowledge and Microsoft Fabric top-of-the-line technology stack. 
  • Make AkerBP visualize and utilize its data for better decision support, focus on solving difficult problems and share the knowledge across the organization and its partners. 
  • Challenge us and apply the best available Analytics technology to solve the problems at hand. 
  • Share knowledge and results with the rest of the organization. 

 

The other position is part of the Performance Analytics team. In this role you would:  

  • Work closely with disciplines within the Digital BU to explore and articulate performance data for product- and service delivery 
  • You will act as a full stack developer, identifying and structuring relevant data, modelling and visualise data products for continuous monitoring and analysis. This may include historical data for benchmarking and analysing trends.  
  • Apply and improve the technology that forms a leading analytics infrastructure, while contributing to modernising our analytics stack by piloting new analytics tools and solutions.  

 

 

Typical work tasks can be:   

  • Create robust, automated, and maintainable data models/sets, reporting packages, metrics (KPIs) and visuals such as dashboards, databases, tables and views to enable the business to monitor and improve operational performance. This would include transforming of data with SQL and Python; Using DAX to create metrics, and data modelling using star schema to make data ready for end users; Visualisation in PowerBI through Microsoft Fabric and dbt. 
  • Contribute to both technology development and implementation of Data Analytics solutions in production services.  
  • Documenting and setting up best practices for Data Analytics projects and solutions in AkerBP.  
  • Quality assurance, risk management, and knowledge management of Data Analytics solutions. 
  • Synthesise data and information, and clearly illustrate and present hypotheses, findings or recommendations  
  • Form close partnership with colleagues in the Digital BU, in order to build relevant analyses, benchmarks or dashboards 
  • Collaborate closely with data analytics and performance teams across Aker BP and our digital partners/suppliers to create scalable and robust solutions 
  • Last but not least: take an active interest in the inner workings of the Digital Business Unit, and support managers and colleagues with data and insights that makes them able to deliver products and services more efficiently.  

 

Skills and qualifications:  

  • Relevant higher education (MSc. or PhD) such as mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, engineering or similar 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with data analytics and data-driven decision making  
  • Previous experience from a Business Intelligence / Data Engineer / Analyst role 
  • SQL skills, cloud solutions, insight into dimensional modelling and data architecture and experience with visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or Qlik 
  • Advantage if you have worked with API’s, dbt and programming languages 
  • You communicate well and are able to work closely with different domain expertise 
  • Experience building and maintaining analytics/dwh/datalake solutions 
  • Experience with Fabric or similar datalake technologies 
  • Experience with SQL & Python (SparkSQL & Pyspark is an advantage) 
  • Programming and automation mindset (a lot of our pipelines and models are written in python, pyspark, SQL, etc.) 
  • Knowledge about data modelling principles 
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and related Microsoft tools is a big plus 
  • Used to working in an Agile manner and familiar with test-driven development 
  • Fluent/good abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written
