A critical priority for Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our clients' needs. The AWM Chief Data Office (CDO) is part of the AWM Chief Operating Office and is responsible for defining core data strategies. In partnership with business and technology stakeholders, they hold a key role in transforming AMW into a data driven organization that leverages analytic tools, AI/ML models, and comprehensive core data sets to drive decision making, product innovation, and valuable insights for our clients. 

As the Executive Director - Data Strategy Lead, you will influence and shape the data strategy for our Alternatives business. Lead product delivery for Falcon and drive impactful data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Alternatives (Alts) Tech, Product Owner, Operations and Client to implement the Alts Data Strategy. This would include strategic vendor partnerships, re-use across Alts products when possible, strategic organizational alignment of data tasks/responsibilities and integration with AM (AWM)-wide toolsets when possible. 
  • Align data strategy with the asset management system of record.
  • Ensure data requirements are represented and appropriately prioritized for impacted products.
  • Provide delivery oversight across the impacted products and ensure transparency into delivery of requirements to hold product owners accountable.
  • Mitigate emerging risks and appropriately escalate to steering forum level. 
  • Implement the data assurance framework, focusing on data quality enhancements to enable operational efficiencies.
  • Assume product owner responsibility for Falcon which consumes data from our Fund administrators for distribution to internal consumers.
  • Derive the Data strategy for Falcon, and champion the business case and vision for the product.
  • Liaison between product technology, and Alts stakeholders to prioritize and refine the product roadmap.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in directing and managing data strategy, 
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role with evidence of driving business transformation and impact.
  • Adept at stakeholder management with demonstrated ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders across functional and regional boundaries.
  • Strong project management skills and established history of delivering on complicated projects, driving efforts across various functions, and working closely with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter that takes initiative and has demonstrated effectiveness working independently and in multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Problem solving skills - demonstrated ability to structure and scope complex problems, innovative thinking, gain and synthesize insights to develop solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, structured approach to planning and project execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-communication role that requires constant interaction with stakeholders, product teams, external parties, and across functional areas.
  • Experience of the alternatives business within the Asset Management sector, with a proven track record of innovation and adaptability in evolving market conditions.
