We are hiring for a technically strong individual with expertise in spatial biology to support our ongoing projects. The senior bioinformatician role demands someone who can work independently and is knowledgeable in spatial genomics, can develop new methodologies, and can contribute to publishing high-quality manuscripts. Performs analytics under the guidance of a principal bioinformatician or other bioinformatics staff with equal expertise (abbreviated below as "senior-level bioinformaticians”). You will work at the intersection of advanced imaging and spatial transcriptomics, analyzing high-dimensional biological data to generate insights in spatial biology.

Imaging:

•    Multiplex Imaging (MxIF): Manage and analyze data from multiplex immunofluorescence (MxIF) workflows, including antibody panel design and iterative staining.
•    Tissue and Cell Segmentation: Use tools like DeepCell, CellPose, Ilastik, or CellProfiler to segment tissue and cells.
•    Data Integration & Visualization: Handle large spatial datasets using platforms like OMERO, QuPath, and BioFormats for bioimaging analysis.
•    Machine Learning in Imaging: Apply machine learning methods to classify cellular phenotypes and analyze spatial data.
•    Image Processing: Expertise in fluorescence microscopy, including autofluorescence removal, image normalization, and background correction.


Spatial Transcriptomics:
•    Technology Expertise: Experience with spatial transcriptomics platforms such as 10x Genomics Visium, NanoString GeoMx, and Merscope.
•    Data Analysis: Proficiency in Python, R, and tools like Seurat or Squidpy for analyzing spatial transcriptomics data.
•    Pipeline Development: Develop or customize bioinformatics pipelines for spatial data processing and analysis.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    MS (PhD preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related field.
•    3+ years (1+ year for those with PhD) of paid professional experience in advanced imaging techniques and spatial transcriptomics.
•    Track record of publishing in leading journals.
•    Proficiency in Python, R, and bioinformatics tools.
•    Experience working in cloud computing and high performance computing environments.
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
•    Good written and oral communication.
•    Ability to prioritize, organizes, and delegates various tasks on projects.
