Job Description

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

As a Senior Data Engineering/ETL Lead you will build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyze data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

To be a successful Senior Data Engineering/ETL Lead, you should have experience with:

  • ETL Tools Proficiency: Extensive experience in Architecture and Design with ETL tools such as Ab initio, Talend, Apache NiFi etc.

  • Database Management Systems: Strong knowledge of relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, and, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB etc.

  • SQL Expertise: Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning for large datasets.

  • Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schema, snowflake schema, and data marts.

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

  • Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Kafka.

  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure, particularly in the context of data engineering and storage solutions.

  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView to present complex data insights effectively.

  • Machine Learning: Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application in financial risk modeling and predictive analytics.
