The Pompea College of Business and the Tagliatela College of Engineering at the University of New Haven invite applications for a Non-Tenure Track position at the lecturer level in Information Sciences.

The University of New Haven is launching a graduate degree in Information Science. This position includes both teaching and service expectations along with a responsibility to serve as the founding director of the Information Science program. The successful candidate for this position will hold a joint appointment with the future Interdisciplinary Incubator and work closely with faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences, Pompea College of Business, and Tagliatela College of Engineering. The position can be tailored and adapted to match the strengths of the right candidate with ability to cover the majority of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed a terminal degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Decision Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.  Strong applicants should be versatile, with an ability to teach a variety of courses in the information science field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in R Programming Language, Python, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, (among other things) and possess expertise in data analytics, optimization, business modeling, data visualization, natural language processing, and data mining.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, and a student orientation. Ideal candidates should demonstrate applied teaching experience and the ability to teach effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, and online environments. All faculty members are expected to engage in student-focused activities such as advising and career mentoring. Impactful, applied-research is valued highly within both the department and the college.
