The Electronic Warfare & Signal Processing group is looking to hire an experienced Senior Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer with knowledge and technical expertise in modeling and simulation to support the design, development, and deployment of software products containing advanced RF capabilities to address emerging threats. This position requires an ability to drive technical solutions for multi-disciplined technical teams during all phases of capture and development.

This position is full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA in support of Advanced Technologies programs.

What You Will Do

  • Develop high fidelity simulations and models for subsystems and systems as an Individual Contributor, Technical Lead, or both.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of modeling solutions, and subsequently conduct trade studies and evaluation of system and subsystem performance.
  • Collaborate with different SMEs, receiving input from leads and customers that guide the direction of the simulations and models.
  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance and/or an SCI clearance.

What You Will Learn

  • Verbal and written communication skills for engagement with program management, technical team members, customers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
  • Manage modeling and simulation product throughout the lifecycle and support new business efforts. Development efforts will be focused on front end development, with a vision towards extending and transitioning to end users/systems.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of engineering experience OR an advanced degree with three (3) years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with Signal Processing (AMTI), Tracking, Communications, or Resource Management.
  • Experience developing models and evaluating data sets in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis for existing or proposed engineering solutions.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years.
  • Experience leading and training technical teams of junior to mid-level systems engineers and analysts, interfacing with customers, and the ability and balance development priorities with near/long term program objectives.
  • Engineering analytical and experience in capture phases Gates 0-4 or experience generating test plans and procedures for software products.
  • Experience with requirements development and analysis.
  • Experience with software integration and using Linux OS.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical briefings.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
