RingCentral is looking for a specialist who will help to support and develop analytics and big data platforms. Our Data Operations team is working to build new services or transform existing services as required by the growing needs of the company. As a technical member of the team you would be able to take part in challenging technical projects and participate in decision making processes that will define the future of hybrid analytics platforms in RingCentral.

You will have the opportunity to work with a large-scale infrastructure of 500+ servers distributed across 10+ global regions. Responsibilities:

  • Support analytics platforms based on Hadoop, Spark, Airflow and Tableau visualization platform.

  • Participate in on-duty rotations, work on production incidents, collaborate with engineering and QA teams to perform root cause analysis, mitigate impact and prevent future service degradation and outages.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to analytics platforms.

  • Continuously seek ways to optimize time spent on maintenance activities and automate routine tasks.

  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and creation of self-healing systems.

Experience and Skills:

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, MIS or related field and equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Hadoop and/or Spark platforms (we use Cloudera CDP and Apache Spark)

  • 3+ years of experience of production back-end platforms support

  • 5+ years of experience with administration of Linux OS

  • Implementation of high-availability and business continuity solutions in the data analytics space

  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure (we use AWS and GCP)

  • Deep understanding of network principles: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS

  • Deep understanding of Linux OS maintenance operations: user management; package creation, management, deployment; system service configuration

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts, including Infrastructure as code utilizing tools like Ansible, Jenkins or an equivalent

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Git

  • Familiarity with change management best practices

  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Fast learner with ability to self-teach and dig through documentation

  • Team player with a positive and friendly attitude

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to multiple platform architecture designs and implementations

  • Experience with on-premise colocated infrastructure (both bare-metal and virtualized)

  • Experience with Kubernetes (automation, deployment, maintenance)

  • Experience with configuration of monitoring systems based on Zabbix and/or Prometheus

  • Experience with Python and/or Go programming languages

  • Experience with Tableau platform

Would be a plus:

  • Team or technical leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and/or Python.
  • Knowledge of non-SQL and BigData platforms.
  • Experience working with Linux systems and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with reporting and analytical applications.
  • Experience with billing reports.
