Job Description

The Product Data Engineer position is an integral addition to our Product Data and Engineering team.  The individual who accepts this role will have the opportunity to work directly with our Window and Door products as well as collaborate across all of Cornerstone Building Brands.  This role will focus on transforming our product data and data management processes. The successful candidate will have opportunities for visibility at many levels in the organization and will work closely with the Product Management, Product Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.  Advancement opportunities are present throughout multiple departments. 


Primary accountabilities for this position include: 
1.    Assists with reviewing, standardizing, developing, and implementing Bills of Materials for all existing and new products. 
2.    Manages the implementation of data and product changes through the Engineering Change Process. 
3.    Interacts with certain CAD systems that house Engineering data to confirm accuracy of design information that translates into the data systems. 
4.    Implements supporting configuration and technical product information such as manufacturing formulas, test data, and general information. 
5.    Provide technical product data support. Answer questions, and perform investigations for customers, sales, service, QA and others as needed.  
6.    Manages product documentation and documentation systems.  Maintains accuracy and currency of all technical product information through standard process for document approval and control.  Maintains product design and product information support. 
7.    Ensures maintenance of all required product certifications as assigned.  Orders and schedules product testing.  Orders test units and supervises testing. 
8.    Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new and emerging trends in fenestration industry. Identify areas of opportunity to implement these new technologies into product solutions.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material and Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related science field
  • Some experience in product data management, development, engineering, Quality Assurance, or other technical function working with product and/or manufacturing specifications is preferred.
  • Ability to manage engineering documentation and present technical information.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects using excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate across multiple business functions and levels. 
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Knowledge of various CAD software and Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fenestration products and building codes a plus. 
  • Flexibility for a mix of remote and onsite work schedules.    
  • Position requires minimal travel (<25%).
