As the Data Architect for the Finance Data and Reporting Office (FDRO) you’ll be responsible for the enabling National Grid’s strategic ambitions through the effective management and use of our data assets. The core business drivers for this role are to tackle inefficient data processes, drive global data consistency, execute on a methodical approach to generate trusted data that enables better reporting and more effective and innovative use of data across the enterprise.
 

National Grid is hiring a Data Architect for our Finance Data and Reporting Office team. This is a hybrid role based in Warwick. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the design of the enterprise data model and have a broad understanding of how each component fulfils the needs of the organisation
  • Be accountable for supporting and aligning to the enterprise data standard
  • Champion data architecture within the finance function and through collaborating and communicating at the most senior levels across National Grid
  • Set the standards and ways of working within the FDRO, ensuring effective management of data assets in line with enterprise policies
  • Oversee the successful delivery of FDRO portfolio projects, integrating data onto the Financial Data Platform (snowflake)
  • Provide specialist data expertise to the Finance function and wider business, assuring the organisation’s systems and processes are designed in accordance with the enterprise data standards
  • Manage internal stakeholder and external vendor relationships in this space

About You

You have strong experience in data, technical or in a business role that includes managing large scale data architecture initiatives and data models. You have experience in leading project teams to deliver large scale programmes (£1m+). You have led the development of complex processes and have worked in an SAP ERP environment. In addition, you have strong stakeholder engagement and management experience. Candidates with accounting / project management qualifications will be viewed favourably. We'd like to see: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA data architecture and data management
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
  • Sound business case development and approvals skills

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £60,000 – £70,000 – dependent on capability


As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
