ABOUT THE POSITION

As a member of the Development Operations team, the Data Integration Developer works closely with other technology teams, business units, and management, to contribute to the strategy and architecture for managing the enterprise’s data. The developer will help define and implement integration services, primarily through SQL and ETL development, to build and maintain data warehouses, repositories, marts, reports, and integrations, to address business objectives. This position supports various technology and business teams on a Tier 1-3 level.


NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Implements the data architecture design including data warehouses, repositories, aligning with overall enterprise strategy based on recommendations from the manager and senior developers. 
  2. Collaborates with internal stakeholders, understands and translates business use cases and/or requirements into functional specifications for data integration processes including ETL, ELT, data extracts and reports.
  3. Designs, develops, and modifies data integration processes to specifications following team coding standards.
  4. Performs code reviews to ensure all code from team adheres to standards as well as testing of functionality to ensure all deliverables are functioning as designed. 
  5. Creates and maintains documentation of current state data processes covering information such as interfaces, data stores, transport technologies and the source and destination of data at both a functional and technical level. Validates data integration processes in development and test environments by developing and executing test plans.
  6. Provides support in each environment (development, test and production) to meet service-level requirements such as availability, volume of data, response time, and follows security best practices.
  7. Works independently to troubleshoot complex higher tier integration issues across environments.
  8. Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. 4-6 years hands on experience (including in an academic setting) designing, developing, testing and implementing complex software services/solutions, data warehouses, and working with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  2. Understanding and experience with all phases of the systems data development lifecycle. 
  3. Ability to troubleshoot complex development/production/integration issues.
  4. Ability to work standard business hours and occasional after hours/weekends, as needed. 
  5. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  6. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).
  7. Travel required on occasion.


Here are a few qualities we’d LIKE for you to have to make you more suited for this position.

  1. B.S. in Computer Sciences, Information Systems/Technology or related field.
  2. Advanced knowledge and 3+ years’ experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
  3. Experience with development tool stacks (Visual Studio, SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, GIT).
  4. Financial institution experience.
  5. Advanced understanding and experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle.
  6. Strong knowledge of systems and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to business.
