Fitch Ratings Sovereign Group is currently seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst based out of our London office to work in the economics team

 

The primary focus of this role is to provide data and research support to the economics team led by Fitch Ratings’ Chief Economist, Brian Coulton. This will include responsibility for the database and forecasting infrastructure for the team’s flagship Global Economic Outlook (GEO) report.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Maintain and develop GEO database and forecast spreadsheets, manage quarterly GEO report publication and integration of economic forecasts into Fitch credit analyst workflows
  • Publish 20/20 Vision and Frontier Vision economics chart packs
  • Provide data focused analytical support to colleagues in economics team including analysis and graphics for published research reports and dashboards
  • Undertake economic research and modelling to help inform forecasts (e.g. ’nowcasting’ models) 
  • Provide data and analytical support to head of sovereign data enhanced analytics team   

 

What You Need to Have:

  • Fluent English language skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, statistics or similar
  • Good experience in data/analytics role with demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel and VBA; knowledge of econometric modelling packages also helpful 
  • Strong initiative and a practical, solutions-oriented focus to managing workload
