The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role classifying and managing Transgrid’s data assets to align with business and regulatory requirements. You’ll be responsible for implementing a comprehensive data governance strategy, leading data catalog enhancements, supporting Transgrid’s data management initiatives, and driving efforts to improve data literacy across the organisation.
This position oversees the end-to-end delivery of data governance initiatives, including data literacy and data loss prevention programs. You will play a key role in managing data risks, particularly around data sharing and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data governance principles, data quality, and compliance, with a deep understanding of data and information management within a governance framework.
About you
- 4+ years of experience working in a data governance or data management role.
- Expertise in data governance principles, data quality, and compliance.
- Knowledge of data and information management in a governance context.
- Proficiency with governance tools like Microsoft Purview and Fabric to maintain metadata management, data lineage, and governance workflows.
- Cultivate excellent professional working relationships with a diverse network of key people internally and externally, aligning with organisational purpose, goals and performance metrics.
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Engage, communicate and negotiate confidently using verbal, written and presentation skills, explaining complex technical matters in a way that a broad range of stakeholders can easily understand.
