SUMMARY:   

The Data Engineer / Business Intelligence Developer supports the Business intelligence team developing easy to use and understand Tableau reporting. As a member of the Business Intelligence team the developer’s strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity to understand business context, strategy and outcomes will aid in engineering highly trusted data & analytics solutions. Daily activities will include design, build, and deploy business intelligence solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS: 

  • Design data and reporting solutions
  • Build and operationalize highly trusted and utilized data solutions
  • Design and develop SQL code, with opportunities to develop scripts and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data integrated from multiple sources
  • Develop product deliverable documentation
  • Collaborate with agile team members to meet deadline
  • Elicit business requirements, perform gaps analysis, and develop report design
  • Build top end interactive Tableau dashboard reports
  • Communicate project status and results
  • Recommend and develop reporting best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Analyze data and architecture for issues, concerns, and improvement
  • Own the process and the results

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field; OR equivalent training with data technology, processes or solutions. 
  2. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.
  3. Two (2)+ years experience Designing, Creating and Developing Tableau Dashboards
  4. Two (2)+ years of data engineering or equivalent experience
  5. Working with data in a Health Care / Insurance environment is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED: 

  • Advanced knowledge of BI / Dashboards tools such as Tableau
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare data preferably from healthcare payer perspective
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong working knowledge of Big Data platforms such as Hadoop and Databricks preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Cloud Data Platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle or SQL)
  • Intermediate working knowledge of ETL tools and processes
  • Intermediate relationship building
  • Intermediate Execution Excellence
  • Intermediate problem solving skills
  • Basic familiarity of DevOps fundamentals (build, release, test, monitor)
  • Basic familiarity with advanced statistical concepts
  • Willingness to work with unclear and poorly defined data, making it into a viable product

PAY RANGE

“Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate’s skills and professional experience, geographic location, market and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $70,400 and $117,800.”
