Data Engineering that makes a difference

At Volvo Cars, we are making bold digital visions come true. We aim to lead in the automotive world by creating a digital ecosystem built around making our customers' lives less complicated. Now we are looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.

What you'll do

You will be a part of the Commercial Data Hub and drive the Commercial data transformation journey towards a data culture where each product team expose their own data in an easily consumable way. To achieve this, we work in a multi-functional setting and your main responsibilities would include:

  • Building functionality that makes it easier for data consumers within Commercial to consume data in Snowflake
  • Building and maintaining source and business aligned data products
  • Giving professional data engineering support to data consumers and help them using the data according to best practices

What you'll bring

The ideal candidate will possess not only extensive experience with the data engineering technologies we use, but also a high level of proficiency in soft skills.

Your main technical responsibilities includes implementing tooling, developing data pipelines and data governance solutions. Snowflake is used to expose data for analytical purposes and the role requires a solid understanding of Snowflake, including access handling and data protection. Our tech stack is based on Azure, SQL, Python, Snowflake, Airflow and DBT and previous experience working with those technologies will be valuable in the role.

On the soft skills side, you should be a collaborative team player who is adaptable and open to changes. A keen interest in learning and delivering is essential, along with a receptiveness to different perspectives. The role involves significant interaction with stakeholders. You will support analysts and business functions to consume data in an effective way. Understanding their needs and how we can assist them is crucial. Collaboration with the central data platform team is also key, where you will suggest features that aid our team, product teams and data consumers.

The role is a full time position based in Stockholm. You are at this point in time expected to work from the office in average three days per week.

Sounds interesting?

We’d love to receive and review your application. If you want more information about the role and its responsibilities or simply learn a bit more about the team, please reach out to the hiring manager at milika.jovanovic@volvocars.com
