Research Specialist

LSEG D&A Commodity Research is looking for a Research Specialist to join our European Gas Research team. The team delivers market data, develop, and support fundamental forecasts models of supply, demand, and prices, and publishes in-depth reports on the natural gas market. Our clients are Natural Gas and LNG producers, importers, distribution companies, trading houses, and financial and governmental institutions. Preferred candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills .

WORKSTYLE MODEL 

We know balance is the key, therefore we propose hybrid way of working. You are welcome to work from our brand-new office every day, but you have still an opportunity to stay at home if needed. In this position you can work 2 days a week from home

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting projects, using technical understanding to help remove obstacles and to find creative solutions
• Assisting in maintaining our industry-leading market models, embracing an ethos of continuous improvement to help ensure our modelling solutions remain relevant
• You will process and maintain data accurately and in a timely manner onto databases using technical and basic market knowledge
• Contributing to market reports, transforming our data and forecasts into meaningful analysis
• You will ensure data quality, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
• Supporting improvements to content and design of our analytical tools, charts, and tables
• Building domain expertise in Gas market content
• While focused on the European gas market, you will maintain an awareness of broader global themes and trends relevant to our North America and LNG products, and be prepared to support the global team covering these

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

• Natural curiosity and a detail-oriented approach
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of the importance of ensuring data quality and accuracy
• Economic knowledge with strong grounding in statistics and/or operational research
• Programming experience in MATLAB or Python,
• Positive attitude to learning new skills and technologies, particularly around the Gas market and analytics
